SUNNYVALE, CA - February 17, 2005 -- Tropos Networks, the proven leader in delivering ubiquitous,
metro-scale, Wi-Fi mesh network systems, and WFI (Nasdaq: WFII),
a global leader in the design, deployment, and management of
wireless communication networks, technology networks, and security
systems, today announced an agreement for WFI to become a worldwide
systems integrator of Tropos Networks’ metro-scale Wi-Fi
mesh network products and services. Under the terms of the agreement,
WFI will provide the network systems integration for the full
suite of Tropos MetroMesh™ products and services to municipalities,
government and public safety agencies, and service providers
worldwide. Further terms of the agreement were not disclosed. |

WFI views Wi-Fi mesh networking services
as a major new market opportunity. This agreement expands Tropos
Networks’ customer reach worldwide by bringing to its
customers and prospects WFI’s carrier expertise and total
network design and service solutions. |

WFI has extensive experience in providing
complete wireless network services including RF planning and
design, network design and deployment, maintenance, monitoring
and system optimization. Together, Tropos Networks and WFI plan
to offer IP data and video services to government and community
agencies, including municipalities, law enforcement and public
safety organizations, as well as service providers to cities.
They will design and build out metro-scale Wi-Fi mesh networks
for a variety of business and mission critical applications
such as video surveillance, automated meter reading, emergency
medical services, and Internet access to name a few. |
