AMORY, MISSISSIPPI, GOES DIGITAL WITH FIRST METRO-SCALE WI-FI NETWORK FUNDED ENTIRELY BY A PRIVATE FOUNDATION

Gilmore Foundation funds citywide Tropos MetroMesh/CSG Data Networks deployment

SUNNYVALE, CA - May 9, 2007 -- "Imagine a community that is totally connected...a Digital Amory...that fundamentally transforms the way we live, work and play." This is the vision of the Gilmore Foundation, private not for profit grant making organization serving Amory, Monroe County and all of Northeast Mississippi, for AmoryNet, a citywide Wi-Fi network covering Amory, Mississippi, using a TroposŪ MetroMesh™ system. AmoryNet is the first metro-scale Wi-Fi network whose construction and operation is entirely funded by a private foundation. CSG Data Networks, a leader in design and implementation of large scale wireless networks, will provide systems integration, network design and network installation services.

Working with the AmoryNet Alliance, a group of elected officials, local businesspeople, educators and community leaders, the Gilmore Foundation plans to offer a variety of applications and services using the network, including access for public safety officers and municipal field employees, video surveillance to deter vandalism and live webcasting of local sporting events. The Gilmore Foundation also plans to donate laptop computers to all of the city's high school seniors.

"The AmoryNet vision extends far beyond simply providing wireless Internet access to the community," said Danny Spreitler, executive director of Gilmore Foundation. "We will enable educational opportunities outside of the classroom. We will enable out-of-town grandparents to watch their grandchildren compete in sporting events. We will share the joy of living in Amory with people around the world."

The Gilmore Foundation will cover Amory with the network in three phases. The first phase, completed in April 2007, covers Amory's downtown. It was launched in conjunction with Amory's annual Railroad Festival, a celebration of the city's founding in 1887 as a railroad town. The festival brings upwards of 60,000 visitors to the city each year. During the Railroad Festival, AmoryNet provided free Internet access to visitors as well as streaming video of the celebration.

The second phase of the network, planned for completion in July 2007, will cover approximately half of Amory's 13 square miles, focusing on underserved areas of the community. The third phase of the network, targeted for completion in July 2009, will cover the remainder of the city. As part of the network deployment, the Gilmore Foundation will also install a fiber backbone throughout Amory.

"We are pleased to have been selected to provide a complete turn-key wireless broadband solution for Amory," said Richard Marko, Vice President of CSG Data Networks. "Along with Tropos Networks, we are excited to be enabling the Gilmore Foundation's vision of a Digital Amory."
