PACIFICA NET GOES LIVE WITH CITYWIDE WI-FI NETWORK FEATURING HIGH-SPEED FIXED AND MOBILE PUBLIC ACCESS

Tropos 5320 Dual-Radio Metro Mesh Routers Used to Deliver Up to 3Mbps Symmetrical Wi-Fi Service in Pacifica, California

SUNNYVALE, CA, June 11, 2007 - TroposŪ Networks, the market leader in metro-scale wireless mesh network solutions, and Veraloft, an owner and operator of citywide wireless networks, today announced the launch of the Pacifica Net citywide Wi-Fi service in Pacifica, California at a "Surf Wirelessly" event at the Pacifica Pier to celebrate this significant event for the city. Pacifica Net's service offerings will focus on providing high-speed fixed and mobile Internet access for residential and business customers, in addition to enabling visitors and tourists to access the Internet, all at competitive prices. Pacifica customers can select from three symmetrical speed tiers of service; monthly pricing ranges from $19.95 for up to 1Mbps to $39.95 for up to 3Mbps.

The "Surf Wirelessly" event will include a presentation by Pacifica's Mayor Pro Tem, James Vreeland, as well as demonstrations of video and voice applications running over the Wi-Fi network. "The network provides the community with a new high-speed Internet access alternative which is unique in that it can go anywhere a user goes around town. In addition, it modernizes the city's public service infrastructure, increasing mobile worker efficiencies and delivering improved services to the community," said Vreeland.

"The city of Pacifica and its leaders should be commended for recognizing the value of a citywide Wi-Fi network," said Robert Hayes, President of Veraloft. "With thousands of people already using the service in homes, offices, coffee shops and parks, we're seeing validation of what we felt was a uniquely compelling offering - a true broadband Internet access service that can be used all over town.

"We are excited the Pacifica network is live and servicing the community, and we are pleased that Veraloft selected the Tropos' 5320 dual-radio MetroMeshT router and Tropos Control management suite," said Ron Sege, President and CEO of Tropos Networks. "The 5320 is an ideal solution as Pacifica's terrain represents a challenge with mountains and numerous trees with foliage that varies throughout the year. The Tropos 5320 dynamically uses both 802.11a and 802.11b/g links in the mesh layer, enabling the network to be responsive and intelligently adapt to changes in the environment, ensuring accessibility and high-speed performance for a positive, high reliability user experience."
