TROPOS NETWORKS APPOINTS JOHN B. EICHHORN AS CFO

SUNNYVALE, CA -- April 27, 2010 - Tropos Networks, the leading provider of IP broadband mesh network systems used by utilities and cities, announced today the appointment of John B. Eichhorn as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Eichhorn will oversee Tropos’ day-to-day financial operations and will be responsible for shaping the company’s financial strategy as Tropos accelerates its presence in the smart grid market.

“John has an extensive and impressive record of managing the financial affairs of Fortune 500 technology companies,” said Tom Ayers, president and CEO of Tropos Networks. “His experience working with growing private and publicly-held companies as well as his strategic planning expertise will provide high value as the company expands both domestically and internationally.”

During the span of his 26-year career, Eichhorn has led the financial, regulatory compliance, investor relations and strategic planning activities while working for several notable companies including PayCycle, Business Objects, Adobe Systems, Cisco, and Hewlett Packard. While at Hewlett Packard, Eichhorn held a variety of executive financial management positions spanning three continents.

Conversant in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, Mr. Eichhorn holds a Masters degree in International Management with a concentration on Asia and Mandarin Chinese from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and Audit Committee Chair for the United Way of Silicon Valley.
