Upgrade Plan for Motorola-Branded Tropos Routers
Recently Tropos has become aware that Motorola-branded Tropos routers, built in 2006 and 2007, are being
offered for purchase to Tropos resellers and customers. These units are identified as “Motorola HotZone by Canopy” models MTR-52103000AA and MTR-52103030AA. Please be aware that these units no longer have a valid Tropos warranty (hardware or software). In addition, these routers all have old versions of the Tropos operating system software installed on them and Tropos does not provide support to end users of these products. Attempting to install software beyond the version that was originally installed on the products will violate the software license and will result in unstable operations.
To ensure satisfaction of its customers, Tropos has created an upgrade kit specifically for the MTR-designated
units. Prior to placing any of these routers into operation, this upgrade kit must be purchased for each MTR-designated router. Without the upgrade, the MTR-designated routers cannot be upgraded to the current Tropos operating system software nor centrally configured, monitored and managed by the Tropos Control Network Management System. Using these products in a mixed network with other Tropos products will result in unpredictable and unstable operation.
